India 2024 Water Well Projects

Project Report-REGULAPADU

In May 2024 we repaired and rehabilitated another well in the remote village of REGULAPADU, in Andhra Pradesh India. We also returned after the well dedication to do Medical Relief Outreach there.

Our local rep and his service team had to travel some 130 Km to this district, in the agency area to get the rehab job done. The well was drilled in 2010 by the government to bring relief to their water supply problem.

However, the well broke down 3 years ago. Their story has been very pathetic.

(Please read their full story though long, you may understand better why we urgently need your help to do the next project for the next village in line).

They go downhill in a small river gorge to collect water and laboriously climb uphill to bring it home. Their leaders have been looking for a way to fix it and got tired of the challenge as the hardship grew with health & survival of their children a big issue. When we got there- they lamented “we don't have proper water, we are having trouble drinking, many local officials have been asked to repair it, but “the authorities are escaping.”

“He said that at present we are using canal water and a tank to hold some water for drinking. But it is not enough for us and everyone knows that we use only the right amount of water each day. Their situation is very embarrassing.”

The reason is that we have to go near the water courses and now the sun is high and the water courses have also dried up in many locations.”

At last, their leaders heard about us and approached RNM WASH manager to tell us their problems. They said that the reason was that they were tired of using the contaminated water. They also do not feel afraid to come to us because as Hindus they know most Christians do not belligerent as some of them are, not all. They act like people who do not love the God we worship. Regardless of our religious differences, they know we do help people in need as they have seen the projects we have done in other predominantly Hindu villages. So, they came to us very scared to ask for help.

RNM reassured them that we do not discriminate against any people group on the basis of religion, caste and class, but seeks to alleviate human sufferings as we see their tears and needs.

“The needy will not always be neglected; the hope of the poor will not be crushed forever”. ...

Psalm 9:18

There was no way to take our vehicle there because of the bad roads and winding hilly terrain. We ended up going with several bikes meandering through the terrible and bumpy bush pathways.

The well rehab took a whole day with the technician bringing all the parts he needed to fix the well which includes the pump cylinder, the draw pipes or risers, the sucker rods, etc.

Anyone going to REGULAPADU must be well prepared as there is no phone signals or WiFi anywhere for video call. Any pictures and videos can only be sent to the USA from our home base. The condition of that village was very pathetic without drinking water.

GAY BUICK GMC DICKINSON, TX WELL

Last week Relief Network Ministries completed a new water well project for the KODIPANDALA DIBBA Village community in Andhra Pradesh State with about 1000 beneficiaries and their animals.

The well is sponsored by GAY BUICK GMC Dealership in DICKINSON, TX USA to bring relief to their water crisis problem that plagued them for many years. There was great joy and happiness in the village during the well dedication ceremony, especially among the women and girls that did the most work by walking miles to fetch water that is often unsanitary.

Our reps also distributed a few Sarees and NT Bibles to some of the women in need.

RNM appreciates the relationship and partnership of our sponsors like GAY BUICK GMC Auto Dealership in DICKINSON, Texas.

Relief Network Ministries completed and dedicated another new well project in the village of KOTHAPETA in Andhra Pradesh State last week.

About 500 families in this village will now draw their safe domestic water from this new well.

The new well is sponsored by our partner - DOMINION CHURCH in Dickinson, Texas.

Our local Indian rep says: “The villagers and the local pastor are so happy for what God has done through us. The need for a bore well was an unfulfilled dream from the villagers as they depended on ponds for drinking water. But now by the Grace of God and through the help of our ministries that dream for a bore well has come true. The villagers were promised by the local leaders to provide a bore well but their promises never took any form of action and just confined to words. However God has chosen me and you to fulfill the dream and need of the villagers sir. Followed by the dedication, we distributed some Bibles, saries and snacks to the villagers who attended the dedication ceremony.”

INDIA - New Well Completed.

SIDHANTHAM Village just got a new water well drilled and dedicated or commissioned this week for the good health & hygiene of the people of this village in Andhra Pradesh State.

The well hosted by a local Church and will serve some 500 persons in this village with their animals.

RNM and the happy beneficiaries are grateful for the generosity of the sponsors - Maurice & Kristen Mock. The project is also done in honor of Moe’s Daddy - his best friend.

That blesses my heart to know that we do have a few children (men & women) that honor their parents and in obedience to the holy scriptures - the only commandment with a promise- “…that your days may be long on earth!”

MARLAGUDEM Church Community in Andhra Pradesh (MERIEL BERNHARD)

Excited about RNM Dedicating another Rehab well in India this week.

MARLAGUDEM Church Community in Andhra Pradesh is the beneficiary of this well rehabilitation project that serves over 1800 persons plus their animals. This well broke down for about 3 years forcing the people of this church community to go farther for water or wait for electricity to collect some scanty water that comes through a public water pipeline in trickles.

With the rehab done the people are now happy to find safe water readily within their reach and convenience daily with no further need to walk over a mile looking for domestic water.

This well project is dedicated in Memory of our dear friend, brother and partner - David L. Bernard and sponsored by his widow Sis. Meriel Bernhard (of Portland, Oregon), former owners of the Helen Bernard Bakery in the Rose City - Portland, Oregon. During my first missionary journey to the USA, back in the mid “70s the Bernhards was my host family and helped RNM purchase its first rig - the LS 200 used in drilling our fist 35 new wells between 2003-2008 in Nigeria . Many thanks to the Bernhards for their continued generosity and their legacy of love for the great commission- God’s redemptive love story about Christ the living water.

To God be all the glory.
